"River Body" by Jesus Perez

It was the late afternoon, it was dark the sky was gray and there was a slight chill in the air. As we crossed the bridge we felt a chill down our spine. We noticed the car in the river on this summer day. The car was a small, blood red, rusty sports car. We wondered how the car ended up in the river.
It was me and my two friends Axel and Robert. Axel was a rather small boy who had an obsession like interest in sports. He was also very athletic. He played football, basketball, and soccer. Robert on the other hand was a more stay at home type of kid. On weekends all he did was play video games and watch television. While as I was more of a trouble maker who didn’t care about anything. I was always getting in trouble, getting detention, and getting suspended from school.
We were on our way to the 7-11 just down the street. When we crossed the bridge we noticed there was something in the river. “What the hell is that?” said Axel.  We looked over and focused on the river.
We could clearly see that it was a car. We wondered how the car got there. The walkways were not wide enough to support a car, neither was the bridge damaged at all. It was as if the car had dropped from the sky. We thought we had seen a strange figure in the driver’s seat of the car. We walked around it to get a better view. That was when we saw that there was a person in it. We rushed over to the nearest phone as fast as we could. We called 911.
When the paramedics and police arrived we stood watching silently. They had opened up the driver’s side and pulled out the body. It was a male he looked sickening. He was a rather greenish blue color and some of his body had looked liked it was beginning to decay. We asked one of the officers if they knew how he had died. They told us he was most likely murdered. They found a brick on the gas peddle and they had said that he was strangled and brutally beaten. After we had learned what had happened we went home as if nothing had happened, but we knew something inside us had changed that day.
