"I'd Take It All Back" by Columba Gonzalez

"Columbita go in front of me” Her mother said “Why?” The little girl exclaimed “So I can see you!” She pedals past her mom rolling her eyes in the process. The girl is smiling down on her hot pink princess tricycle, particularly at the princess with the baby blue gown and glass slipper. The mother and daughter are midway to the crosswalk. There are Pepsi cans, glass and weeds taller than the little girl everywhere! The girl spots an empty bag of flaming Hot Cheetos. She mutters to herself in a hushed tone but loud enough for her mom to hear. The mother got the grocery bags quickly and headed toward the gliding doors. Or for the little girl “magic slides!” The girl looked ready to expode; she didn’t want to leave unless she had a bag of hot cheetos in her bony palm! Reluctantly she followed her mom, Hopped on her bike, not bothering to help her mom to carry bags on the bikes handlebars. The girl was not happy!
Mother and daughter were riding out of the parking lot. The girl was mad. Her eyes had the innocent look but her lips were crooked. Her lips were slightly opened, ready to scream at the top of her lungs but she didn’t. The girl knew better by now. One morning in breakfast on a September day, she had dropped a piece of bread on the hardwood floor. She quickly looks at the family dog freckles reaction. From her daddys feet to
